Client tags
Label clients, show tag-specific welcome messages, and hide apps from certain clients.
Tags are short labels you attach to clients, like VIP, Retainer or Trial. They do more than organize: they can change what a client sees.
Creating and assigning tags
- 1
Open a client and find the Tags card
Choose Manage to see all your tags, or New tag to create one.
- 2
Name it
For example VIP or Enterprise.
- 3
Assign it
Tick the tags that apply to this client. Tags show on the client list too.
What a tag can do
- Homepage message: an optional note shown at the top of the portal overview for every client with the tag, such as "Thanks for being a VIP client. Reach out anytime for priority support." If a client has several tags with messages, the message from the tag created first is used.
- Hide apps: choose portal tools that clients with this tag cannot access. A hidden tool is fully inaccessible, not just removed from the menu. This is per-client app visibility, on the Professional plan and above.
- Automation target: an automation can add a tag to a client automatically, for example tagging a client as active once their first invoice is paid.
Want a simpler portal for trial clients? Make a Trial tag that hides Invoices, Contracts and Packages, and add it to those clients.
