Email notifications for your clients

Which emails clients receive, how to switch them off, and how clients tune their own.

Orbinly emails your clients when something happens that they should know about. These emails use your name and logo.

What clients are emailed about

  • New messages and shared files
  • Invoices, payment reminders and payment confirmations
  • Proposals and contracts waiting for them
  • Document requests and forms assigned to them
  • Help Desk replies
  • Invitations and sign-in links

Switching them off

Settings → Contact Notifications has one switch for client email notifications. When it's on, clients get emails for actions in their portal. When it's off, those stop.

Some emails always send, whatever this switch says, because the client can't use the portal without them: the initial portal invite, sign-in links, and password resets.

Clients' own preferences

Each client contact can choose which notification emails they personally receive under Settings in their portal. Billing emails go only to contacts who can see billing.

Make them come from your domain

On Professional and above, you can send these emails from your own domain, so they arrive from you@youragency.com. See Your own email domain.
