Getting paid with Stripe
Connect your Stripe account, how clients pay, and what you pay in fees.
Clients pay invoices online by card, powered by Stripe. You connect your own Stripe account so the money goes straight to you.
Connecting Stripe
- 1
Open Settings → Billing
Find Payment collection.
- 2
Connect your Stripe account
You're taken to Stripe to set up (or sign in to) your account and confirm your business details.
- 3
Finish any remaining steps
Until Stripe has everything it needs, you'll see "Almost there". Once complete, it shows Connected and client payments go straight to your Stripe account and bank.
How a client pays
- They open the invoice in their portal (or from the emailed link) and press Pay.
- They're taken to a secure Stripe payment page and pay by card. Orbinly never sees or stores card numbers.
- The invoice is marked Paid automatically and confirmation emails go out.
- Clients can also pay from a payment link you copy from the invoice, with no sign-in needed.
Saved cards and auto-charge
A client can save a card under their portal's Settings → Payment method so you can auto-charge recurring invoices instead of emailing them each time. If an automatic charge fails, a notice about the failed charge is emailed and the invoice stays open.
Fees
- Stripe's normal processing fees apply to each payment, charged to your Stripe account.
- Orbinly doesn't add its own fee on top of your client payments.
- You manage payouts, refunds and disputes in your own Stripe dashboard. Open it from the Billing page.
