Lead forms
Put a contact form on your website and have every enquiry land in your pipeline as a deal.
A lead form is a public page (or a frame on your own website) where anyone can reach you, with no login. Each submission becomes a deal in your Deals pipeline and you get an email, so no enquiry gets lost in an inbox. Find them under Forms → Lead forms.
Building a lead form
- 01
Choose New lead form
Give it a name. Its web address is suggested from the name and you can change it.
- 02
Set up the questions
You start with name, email, company, phone and a message. Add your own, choose Short text, Long text, Number, Date, Checkbox or Dropdown, and mark which are required. Name and email are always required.
- 03
Say what each question is used for
Used for fills in the deal: the person's name and email, their company, phone, or their message. Anything marked Just a question is saved with the deal's notes.
- 04
Decide what happens next
Pick the pipeline stage new deals land in, who they're assigned to, and the thank-you message. You can also send visitors to a page on your site afterwards, or add a consent checkbox they must tick before sending.
Sharing it
- Copy the link from the Lead forms list and put it on your website, in your email signature or in a social profile. The form uses your logo and brand colour.
- Pause a form to stop it taking submissions (its link then shows "not found") and resume it whenever you like.
- Lead forms aren't searchable on Google; they're meant to be shared by link.
Showing it on your own website
- 01
List your websites
In the form's settings, add each website that may display it under Show this form on your own website, one per line, for example
https://yoursite.com. Usehttps://*.yoursite.comto include every subdomain. - 02
Copy the embed code
Choose Get embed code from the form's menu and paste it into your page. The frame sizes itself to the form, so there's no scrollbar.
Heads up
The form only appears on the websites you listed. Anywhere else the frame stays blank, so nobody else can put your form on their site. If you add a new website, add it to the list first. What happens when someone sends it
- A deal appears in your pipeline with a Website form tag, holding everything they answered.
- You're emailed with the person's name and email. The email never includes their other answers; open the deal to read them. If a form is flooded with submissions, emails pause after a while, but every enquiry is still saved.
- Someone sending the same form twice within a few minutes counts as one enquiry.
- When you win the deal and convert it to a client, the client is created from what they told you: their company, phone and the rest of their answers are saved on the client. You can also point a question at one of your custom fields to have its answer saved there.
Protection from spam
Lead forms are public, so they're protected: a security check confirms a real person is sending, hidden traps catch automated form-fillers, and each person, address and form is limited to a sensible number of submissions. Visitors who hit a limit are asked to try again later; you never need to do anything.
Good to know
- Free workspaces accept up to 100 submissions a month across all their lead forms. Paid plans have no limit.
- Lead forms are turned off while HIPAA safeguards mode is on, because a public form can't promise anything about what visitors type into it.
- Only owners and admins can create or change lead forms; everyone on the team can see the deals they produce.
- Deleting a lead form keeps every deal and record it already created.
Tip
Add a consent checkbox if you collect enquiries from people in places with strict privacy laws. Orbinly records when each person ticked it. What your wording needs to say is a question for your own lawyer.Didn't find what you needed?
