Signing in, and how email links work
How your team and your clients sign in, and how long each kind of link lasts.
Your team
- Sign in at orbinly.com with your email and password. If two-factor authentication is on, you'll be asked for a 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
- Single sign-on (SAML) is available on Enterprise: choose Sign in with SSO and use your company identity provider. See Single sign-on.
- Forgot your password? Use Forgot password on the sign-in page. We email a reset link.
- A short security check may appear on sign-in, sign-up and password-reset forms. Most people never see it. See Bot protection.
Your clients
Clients don't have passwords. They sign in with a one-time link sent to their email, and only invited people can use a portal.
| How long the link lasts | Good to know | |
|---|---|---|
| Portal invitation | 24 hours | Can be opened more than once on any device until the person first signs in. Resend anytime. |
| Team invitation | 24 hours | Lands on a page to set a password. Resend anytime from the Team page. |
| Sign-in link (from the portal login page) | 1 hour | Works once. Request a new one whenever you need it. |
| Password reset (team) | 1 hour | Works once. |
Sign-in and reset links open a page with a Continue button. This protects the link from email scanners that open every link in a message, which would otherwise use it up before you do.
Signing in on a different device
Links aren't tied to a browser. Request the link on your laptop and open it on your phone, or the other way round.
Having trouble? See Sign-in link not arriving or expired and Invitation not working.
