AI features only run when someone presses a button or asks the assistant a question, and only if you've added the AI Assistant app. See The AI Assistant.

What happens to content

• Only the content needed for that one request (for example the messages in a conversation, or the invoice being explained) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce the answer.
• Anthropic is listed on our Sub-processors page, and AI processing is described in our Privacy Policy.
• The assistant can read only what the signed-in person is allowed to see, and it cannot change, send or pay anything.
• We record that AI was used (without the content) in your audit log.

Staying in control

• AI is off until you add the app, and you can remove it any time.
• You can hide the client assistant from particular clients with tags.
• It's never available while HIPAA safeguards are on.
